Dear colleagues who share our OSCE values and our respect for the Helsinki Agreement. An agreement which underlines human rights, freedom of the press, and respect for others’ borders.\n\nI deeply condemn the Russian delegation for coming to Vienna. You should not be here. You should all be at home in Russia, working to pull out the Russian soldiers who are attacking Ukraine. Who are attacking freedom. And if you are unwilling to do this, shame on you. \n\nWe have seen a year of brutality and war crimes, of daily bloodshed, of millions fleeing and thousands of lives lost. Ukraine defends its own territorial integrity. But Ukraine also defends what is most dear to us all. Ukraine defends our freedom!\n\nLast week, the Norwegian government launched a new multi-year support programme for Ukraine, amounting to 75 billion NOK, approx. 7.3 billion EUR. We were hugely grateful that President Zelensky was able to take part by videolink at the launch.\n\nThe programme has broad cross-party support from a majority in the Storting and will be extended over five years. It is a promise to be with Ukraine over years. The support programme has been named after the Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize winner, Fridtjof Nansen, in honnor of his humanitarian efforts in Ukraine a hundred years ago.\n\nOne year after Russia’s unjustified full-scale invasion, Kyiv is standing. Ukraine is standing. Democracy is standing. Norway and the OSCE stands with Ukraine until the last Russian soldiers leaves Ukraine. \n\nThis Winter Meeting shows just how isolated Moscow really is. \n\nThis is my message in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Winter Meeting.
