I much appreciated the opportunity to address the @eucouncil this week, as it reflected on the achievements of UNEA 5 in Nairobi. We discussed the role of nature-based solutions in climate and biodiversity, the establishment of a science policy panel on chemicals, waste and pollution and how to promote a solid outcome of the negotiations on the Treaty to end plastic pollution. \n\nI salute the French Presidency of the EU, Minister @b_pompili, and Commissioner @virginijus_sinkevicius for strong environmental leadership. \n🇪🇺🇺🇳🇫🇷🇳🇴
